Tulane University is one of more than 60 colleges to enter into a new partnership with Grubhub Campus Dining, a higher-ed focused part of the food delivery app’s business that serves college students and directly integrates mobile ordering into campus meal plans.

Through Grubhub’s partnership with Tulane University, students can now use their meal credits and dining plans on Grubhub, expanding their options and enabling students access to Grubhub’s network of merchants, campus eateries, and local restaurants.

Students can use their campus dining dollars directly through the Grubhub app, with delivery and pickup options; students can order meals on their mobile devices; and students will have access to promo codes, giveaways, and other rewards. Students are also eligible for free Grubhub+ which means unlimited $0 delivery fees, lower service fees, and 5% back on pickup orders.

Grubhub now works with more than 360 universities, up 21 percent from last year, and reaches more than 4 million students. The company has launched robot delivery across 20 campuses nationwide, including the University of Mississippi, University of Houston, Ohio State, Notre Dame, University of Arizona, and Prairie View A&M, with plans to expand the robot delivery program in coming years.

In addition to robot delivery, Grubhub has introduced Amazon’s “Just Walk Out” technology across several campuses, including the University of Virginia and Loyola University Maryland. This technology allows users to shop at campus convenience stores, skip the checkout line, walk out, and payment is automatically deducted from their meal plan, declining account balance, or other linked Grubhub payment methods.

“Coming off of a strong 2023-2024 school year, I’m very proud that we’re continuing to significantly grow our campus footprint and see such strong adoption of our additional services and solutions with our partners,” said Rob DelaCruz, vice president and general manager of Grubhub Campus. “We see further opportunity in the campus space, and we’re proud to play a role in how students and faculty dine. Our technology allows our partners to operate their dining facilities more efficiently by providing them with the ability to get diners through lines faster and provide a broad range of pickup and delivery innovations.”

Grubhub is part of Just Eat Takeaway.com (LSE: JET, AMS: TKWY). Grubhub features 375,000 merchants in over 4,000 U.S. cities and reports revenue of approximately $2.1 billion.
